Today, Robert Kelchen posted about how he will be spending his summer.
He closed his post with an invitation to other professors to describe their summers, especially for those who think we have summers “off”.

After those three days? Welll….
Those are the things I could remember.
The big goals for summer are to move my reading forward for a new project, dig deeper into methods at the Qualitative Research Institute, and finish developing the digital sociology course.
This probably won’t stop my family from thinking I’m at the beach all summer but it is a glimpse at the contemporary academic life for a non-tenured tenure-track professor.
I just invited adjuncts on Twitter to tell Kellchen how they will be spending their summers…planning to spend mine making mischief
