Trickle Down Feminism: An Update Ahead of the Radio Show

I had no intention of responding to Anne Marie Slaughter’s article in The Atlantic. However, as my first post says, I felt compelled by the reaction I received on Twitter and my own need to make sense of my response.

Shortly after posting it the fine folks at Racialicious were kind enough to cross-post.

That cross-post came to the attention of producers for Feminist Magazine. They asked me to speak about the issues the Slaughter article raised particularly my experience of the article from my various identities.

After a wonderful talk with one of the hosts last night I am feeling charged for our chat. I was very encouraged by her thoughtfulness and thoroughness. I hope I respond in kind.

I will be joining EJ Graff from The American Prospect and Maya Barron of Bend the Arc.

You can catch the show live at 3Pm PST/6PM EST on KPFK.

Friends and family are cautioned against using their fake cartoon voices to call in to the show. Use your inside manners everyone. 😀
